Elementary Philosophy:

We believe that every child has a right to feel loved and cared for and to feel that they belong in our Eleva-Strum elementary community.  We believe that a student’s emotional well-being is as important to support and foster as their academic success.We purposefully build into our daily routines learning competencies that support self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. We choose and implement with integrity curricular materials that are rich in history, geography, science, and the arts.  

On a daily basis we support students by clearly identifying what we want them to learn and proactively use how they demonstrate their understanding to change our instruction.  We are purposeful in utilizing our planning time and instructional support staff to proactively remove barriers for learning and built in supports in the classroom that meet the needs of all learners.  We purposefully integreta technology for all students to assist in personalizing their education and creating more interactive lessons. We work hard to create collaborative partnerships with our families and communities so we can utilize their expertise to provide authentic and innovative student-learning experiences.  Our elementary program is designed to articulate and foster the necessary foundation for students to become engaged citizens and to lead a healthy and well life with a fulfilling career.
